Agent-native webhooks

Describe the transform.
Deploy /h/<id>.

Hooksmith is local-first. An agent writes the YAML, you approve it in the terminal. The cloud runtime stays dumb and fast. The dashboard only watches.

01

The CLI creates

Tell the agent what you want in one sentence. It writes a hooksmith/v1 hook, you review the YAML and approve in the TUI. Nothing is ever authored in the browser.

hooksmith new buildkite-agents
apiVersion: hooksmith/v1
kind: Hook
metadata:
  name: buildkite-agent-disconnected
spec:
  source: buildkite
  conditions:
    - path: event
      equals: agent.disconnected
  transform:
    fields:
      title: "🚨 {{event}} · {{agent.name}}"
      sound: emergency

02

The runtime delivers

POST /h/<id> verifies the signature, checks your conditions, renders the transform and delivers to anything HTTP — brrr, Slack, Discord — with retries and quiet hours.

POST /h/hk_7f2a
verify ✓ buildkite token
match ✓ event = agent.disconnected
render title: "🚨 agent.disconnected · mac-mini-2"
deliver → brrr · 200 · 142ms

03

The dashboard observes

Events, deliveries and usage, live. When something fails, "Fix with Agent" hands the broken event straight back to your terminal.

Loud by day, quiet by night

mode: defer queues overnight events and delivers them at 08:00 with the original payload intact. mode: mute delivers now, silently. Your on-call phone decides which.

Built for agents, not just people

Every CLI command is also an MCP tool. Point your agent at hooksmith mcp serve and it can create, test, deploy and repair hooks without leaving the conversation.
